A Fresh Approach
At the Lewis School we aim for a high quality of teaching. We know that many of you will have had English language learning experiences elsewhere and as a consequence we want to give you a different experience of learning – one that is useful for your future, enjoyable and most of all effective.

Our Teaching Style Is... |
Communicative
We focus mainly on speaking and listening in our classes. This is to help you develop the knowledge and skills to communicate in a real English-speaking environment.
|
Structured
We have our own syllabus, which is designed to help you grow in confidence. Topics, grammar points and functional language vary week by week and build on your previous knowledge.
|
Creative
We use teaching materials from a wide range of sources, including many authentic materials, and adapt our lessons to meet individual and class needs. We do not use a coursebook in General English as we feel this is too limiting, although exam preparation texts from Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press and Longman are used for exam courses.
|
Comfortable
We believe that a friendly and supportive environment is necessary for learning to take place and we have developed the environment within our school to allow students to feel they are part of the extending “Lewis family” wherever they are studying. We regularly organize afternoon and evening activities and along with our international summer courses we also offer Italian based summer schools for our youngest students so they too can extend their Lewis experience beyond the standard afternoon private language school experience.
