Lewis School Diary - February 2007

Last month we told you about our new look around the school. Well, this month we have made more changes to our reception. There is now an interesting piece of artwork by local artist Colin Johnson (see the photo below). We also have a National Geographic atlas on display. We turn the page every morning, so we can all learn something new about the world every day!

You can download our current social activities programme. Click here to see what is happening in March. Our activities in February included a trip to London, a visit to the the theatre to see Swan Lake on Ice, and cycling in the New Forest.

The beautiful New Forest.

The Chinese New Year Parade, outside the Bargate, Southampton.

The celebrations are enjoyed by a large crowd.

New artwork in reception. 'Snakescape' and the artist Colin Johnson.

The London trip was one of this month's highlights.

It was Chinese New Year this month, and Southampton's Chinese community celebrated with a parade and traditional dances in the city centre. You can read about it and see pictures at the BBC website.

February is also the month we celebrate Pancake Day. Read all about it at www.okey-dokey.co.uk
