Lewis School Diary - July 2006

Hello again everyone. Well, the heatwave that we had in June continued long into July, and that made for some great trips and great photos. It was so hot, the record for July temperatures in the UK was broken.

Our social activities programme took full advantage of the hot weather, with a trip (and sometimes two trips) every weekend. We visited some wonderful destinations such as Brighton, Oxford, London, Bath and the New Forest, and even had a 3-day camping trip.

Outside the famous Royal Pavilion.

Miles of beaches!

Some of our July highlights have their own pages. Click below so see what we got up to when we visited Bath, went windsurfing at Calshot Beach, went for a walk in the New Forest, and spent the weekend camping.

Gorgeous architecture in Bath.

Fun at Calshot beach for the windsurfing trip.

Walking in the New Forest... with ponies!

Camping trip.

All in all, the school was alive with activity this month. Many teachers from France, Spain and many other countries came for our methodology courses. We had an incredible 40 nationalities at the adult school, and next door the junior centre was very busy too, with students and group leaders from all over the world.

Here are some shots of our garden patio. One at midday...

...and one at night, from our barbecue party.

Our very best wishes to all of our students, past and present. Good luck with your English, and please stay in touch as we love to hear from you!
