Pro-lingua Group from France - Apr / May 05

Week 1

 

The Pro-lingua group from France spent a fortnight with us for a programme of lessons and activities.Here's what happened during their first week:

The Bargate.

Sunday:  The group arrived at Southampton train station, where the everyone met their host families.

Monday: First day at the school!  All the students took a placement test to find their level, went on a tour of the city centre, and met their teachers: Colin, Richard and Jill.

Tuesday:  After class, we went to the sports centre and played basketball, badminton, volleyball and indoor football.

Wednesday: After lessons, we went on a trip to the picturesque town of Winchester.  We visited the Great Hall, where we saw King Arthur's Round Table.  After that, there was time for a bit of shopping.

Thursday: Lessons as usual, and then a walk around Southampton's historic city walls.

Friday: In the afternoon, we went to see the Moscow State Circus in action - great stuff!

In the evening, we had a barbecue party on the school's patio.  Mmm!

Saturday: The weekend began with a fantastic day out in London.  We saw the famous landmarks, such as Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus,  and Buckingham Palace, but perhaps the highlight of the day was a visit to Hamleys toy shop!
