Fishing Trip - April 2005

On Sunday, we hired a private fishing boat and headed to the west coast of the Isle of Wight, which is a great location for fishing, and on rare occasions you can even see dolphins and sharks.

We left Southampton port at 7.00am and one hour later we were fishing in the English Channel!  It was a gorgeous day to be on the sea with such beautiful surroundings.

Within the first hour, we caught no fewer than six fish.  Most were dogfish, but we also caught sea urchin. At the end of the day, some of us took home their catch and cooked it for dinner!

The day was such a success that we decided to make it a regular event.

On our way to The Needles.  Omer, who was at the school last year and is now at Southampton University, joined us for the trip.

A nice photo opportunity just before the fishing began.

Rods ready, waiting for the first catch.

Meet Jaws' smaller cousin!.

How about this one, Captain?

David with his first fish.

We cooked a couple for lunch and they were delicious!

After a hard day's fishing, everyone is looking forward to cooking what they caught!
