End-of-Year Party, December 2005

2005 ended on a high with our end-of-year party, a fantastic evening of food, dancing and entertainment. As always, the highlight of the party was the show, with some brilliant performances from staff and students, who delighted us with their musical and acting talents. There were some pretty impressive costumes too. The evening was full of great surprises!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the performances and to those who helped put up decorations and prepare the food. A special thank you to Ahmed for his brilliant photos.

The acts, introduced by Jill:

1.  Freddie's Back

An unforgettable performance of the classic Queen song, 'I Want to Break Free'

2.  Colombian Love Song

Alejandro sings a great solo.

3.  Six Samurai

A Japanese song by Sukayaki, performed by our very own Anglo-Japanese group Six Samurai. The singers were Ian, Rika, Tomoe, Kumi, Megumi, and Sarah (who doesn't even speak Japanese!)

4.  Little Red Riding Hood

A brilliant pantomime of the classic children's story, but this time with an expected twist. Little Red Riding Hood shoots the wolf and makes herself a lovely wolfskin jacket. The play starred Jonathan, Simon, Derya, Illaria, Suliaman, Meesu, Aziz, Cindy, Megumi, Kelly, Eugine and Geraldine.

5.  Chinese Love Song

Kelly sings a solo of 'You Cannot Be Brave'.

6.  Jingle Bells

Sung by the Lower Intermediate class, with Keiko and Jonathan on guitar.

7.  TEFL Jive

A special teachers' performance starring Alistair, Richard, Ian and Jill.

Here are some of the highlights

(Left to right): Jill introduces the first act; the multi-talented Richard shows off his drumming skills (and his legs!); Cihan sings as powerfully as Freddie Mercury.

More musical brilliance from Alejandro, Kelly and Six Samurai.

Above: Entering the forest (notice the 'trees'!)

Right: Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf? Grandma, because she's about be eaten! Fortunately, Little Red Riding Hood comes to the rescue, and adds a nice new jacket to her wardrobe.

Jingle Bells by 'Keiko's Jumping Jinglers' and a very special performance by Alistair, Richard Ian and Jill.

Merry Christmas from the Lewis School,

and Best Wishes for 2006
