Russian Agents Visit - March 2005

Last weekend the Lewis School was host to sixteen Russian agents who had come to the UK as part of a familiarisation trip. They arrived at 10pm in Southampton and stayed overnight in the Travel Inn hotel just 200 metres from the school. They were both surprised and delighted by the warm weather (20°C) since Russia is freezing at the moment!

On Sunday morning Alistair gave them a presentation and tour of the school and the surrounding areas. For some of them this was their first trip to the UK.

At 11.30 they took a bus to Bath via Stonehenge to look at Bath University campus and then travelled on to Chester in the North of England to visit another university campus. The Lewis school will be delivering the academic programme to junior students in these 2 centres during the summer. Richard is in charge of this project and will stop teaching now to devote himself full time to the preparation of materials and the recruitment of lots of teachers!
