Boston Centre

Welfare

We place a high priority on the care and supervision of our client. We provide a 24-hour service for group leaders and students, and our policy is to ensure full participation in all our lessons and activities.

Arrival

Students will be welcomed and given information about accommodation, facilities and their first day at the school. They will be given an induction explaining what is expected of them and helping them to settle in. The students will also be given a student card with their name, address of where they are staying and an emergency phone number that is manned 24 hours a day.

Our Staff

All our staff are given instructions about student welfare at their induction and all are made aware of the importance that we place on student welfare.

The Centre Manager is responsible for all the welfare of students, group leaders and staff. It is their responsibility that to inform all parties concerned about any medical conditions or policies relating to specific student needs.

Attendance

Attendance is compulsory for all lessons and activities, and the whereabouts of all students is monitored throughout the day. The maximum ratio of students to staff is 15:1 for lessons and 20:1 for activities.

Individual Students

All students arriving unaccompanied will be under the supervision of a dedicated Lewis School leader, at a ratio of no more than 20:1. Our leader will ensure the full participation of the students and look after their welfare.
