Football Stadium Tour

St. Mary's Stadium is the home of Southampton Football Club, nicknamed the 'Saints'. The stadium opened in 2001 and has a capacity of around 32,000. Southampton spent 27 years in the top division of English football before being relegated, sadly, in 2005. Hopefully they will be promoted again soon. A proud moment for the stadium was in 2002 when it hosted England v Macedonia, a qualifying game for Euro 2004.

 

Thanks to our guided tour of the stadium, we were able to visit some parts that the public cannot usually see.
