About our School
The Lewis School of English has been welcoming students since 1976. We are conveniently located in Southampton city centre, facing a beautiful park. The main bus terminus and shopping areas are just a few minutes’ walk from the school.
The Buildings
We occupy four elegant late 18th-century townhouses with garden patios at the back. Facilities include a reception area, 17 classrooms, a study centre, a computer room, Internet with wireless access, a nursery, a prayer room and a student coffee area. Next door is Southampton Solent University with 17,000 students. We co-operate in a number of ways and our students can use their cafeteria.
Our Students
Our average number of students is 60-120, rising to 150-200 in July and August. We maintain a good nationality balance (see graph). The average age of students is 24, with the majority aged between 18 and 30. The minimum age is 17. There is no maximum age.
