Welcome to Southampton

A Great Place to Live and Study

A major commercial centre and university city on the south coast, Southampton combines the modern and the historic and is ideally located.

A Long Maritime History
Southampton is best known for the Titanic, which sailed from here in 1912. Today, the city is still the ‘cruise ship capital’ of England and is a major centre for sailing and shipping.

A Lively University City
Southampton’s population of 230,000 includes 35,000 university students. This gives the city a young, vibrant atmosphere and an exciting nightlife. Visitors will enjoy the popular West Quay Shopping Centre - one of the largest in the south - and also the huge entertainment complex Leisure World. At the heart of the city are beautiful parks which offer great places to relax and have fun.

Discover the South of England!
Just a short distance from Southampton, you can find Stonehenge, Winchester, the New Forest National Park and the Isle of Wight. Our location is also ideal for day trips to London, Oxford, Bath and Brighton. We look forward to showing you our city!
