Group from Wrocław, Poland, February 2010
We were delighted to welcome a group of 10-year-old students from Wrocław, Poland, for a very special week of lesson and activities. Many thanks to Jola, who wrote the article below.
A Week With Lewis School… by Jola Ziemba, Poland
To teach is to change lives forever is what Jola Ziemba and Ula Banaszek, the primary teachers from Poland, and their junior group of 10-year-olds experienced during a weekly stay at Lewis School.
A professionally planned programme focusing on developing communication skills, a fresh, caring and entertaining approach during classes and a most enjoyable excursion and activity follow-up were how the teachers of Lewis Schools won the little hearts of the Polish pupils with.
Without leaving the school walls, the children went on a bear hunt with Gail, swam the river of Mississippi with Jonathan, entered the magical world of Matilda with Sarah and Charlie and became the Knights of the Round Table with Kevin.
Should you ask what went wrong? Well… the children would stay on Italian rather than English food. Yet, chips couldn’t have been beaten.
And they are going to come back… very soon. Why don’t you take an advantage?
